Application Procedure

The students have to apply in the prescribed form obtainable along with the prospectus in the college office in the month of June on payment of the prescribed application fee.

The original receipt of the application fee should be submitted along with the filled in application

  • The candidates are advised to mention the maximum four number of optional subjects under group II in the order of preference.
  • Candidates claiming seats under various categories like SC, ST, Category I, Category II a, II b, Category III a and III b should submit along with the filled in application, a Xerox copy of the original of the relevant certificates duly attested by the competent authority. Otherwise, their applications will be treated under 'General Merit' only. Subsequent submission of such a certificate will not be accepted.
  • The lists of candidates, who are accorded seats in I B.Sc, will be announced on the notice board of the college from time to time. No intimation will be sent to candidates individually.

Copies of the following documents are to be submitted along with the duly filled-in application form.
  • S.S.L.C. Marks Card
  • P.U.C. Marks Card (10+2)
  • Certificates relating to proficiency in Games, N.C.C., N.S.S and other activities, if any.
  • Caste and Income Certificates as per the recent Government Order and verified by the competent authority.
  • Transfer Certificate.

Note: All the original documents should be produced at the time of admission, failing which the seat will be cancelled.

Admission of candidates to the course is subject to the provisions of 'Mysore University Students' (Disciplinary Control Ordinance, 1989)

Admissions to various combinations are made in the following manner
  • On the basis of merit i.e., on the total marks secured in the optional subjects in the qualifying examination.
  • By following the Reservation policies of the State Govt.
  • A few seats are provided to those students who excel in sports and other extra- curricular activities and those who are involved in NSS and NCC.
  • Seats are also provided to students who are physically handicapped and to the children of freedom fighters.
  • Partially Self-financing seats are available.
  • One seat in each combination is earmarked for students of other Universities.
  • 15% of the seats are allocated for Foreign Nationals.
  • Seats are also allocated for the children of the employees of the University and its affiliated Colleges.

A separate admission committee is constituted every year comprising two senior Professors, one Senior SC/ST teacher and a senior lady teacher headed by the Principal.

Three optional subjects form a combination

Note:

  1. Candidates applying for these combinations are permitted to indicate in the application, 4 combinations in the order of preference. In case the candidate is not selected for any one of the groups so indicated in the application form he/she will not be entitled to claim admission to groups not indicated by him/her in the application form.
  2. A candidate shall select the corresponding optional Science subjects which he/she has studied at the qualifying examinations.
  3. A candidate opting for Physics/Chemistry in the B.Sc., Degree Course shall have studied Mathematics in addition to Physics / Chemistry in the qualifying examination (Pre-University course)
  4. A Candidate opting for Botany, Zoology and Bio-Chemistry in the B.Sc., Degree Course shall have studied Biology in the qualifying examination. (Pre-University Course)
  5. A Candidate is permitted to take Geology or Hydrology or both in the B.Sc., Degree Course, even though he/she has not studied the same in the qualifying examination. (Pre-University Course).
  6. 20% of the seats are allotted under Partially Self-financing Scheme.
  7. 50% of the seats are allotted under Fully Self-financing Scheme in Biotechnology.
  8. BBA Course is completely under self-finance scheme.
