Placement Cell

The Placement cell of Yuvarajas College is committed to training students so that they are able to develop a good personality and also assists them to make a choice of the right course for further studies. Further, it endeavors to place them in right companies before they pass out of the college. In order to accomplish this, we realize that several behavioral attributes need to be addressed in addition to the development of technical skills. Some of the attributes are good communication skills, developing self-esteem and a positive attitude towards life, understanding of moral and ethical values, awareness (knowledge and understanding) of the local and global economic scenario, industrial and R&D trends etc. A blend of such interpersonal skills, awareness and the essential technical training they get in their course of study makes them ideal candidates suitable for employment and service to the nation.

The Career Advancement and Placement Cell of the college is active and strives to address behavioral issues and overall personality development and also makes every effort to ensure job opportunities for the students. It aims at the placement of students with reputed national and multinational companies and most important of all, encourages them to take up advanced studies in the subjects of their choice.

In this context, the Placement Cell often organizes workshop on Personality Development and Career Opportunities for Final year degree students covering the following topics:

  • Positive attitude
  • Opportunities in IT sector for non-engineering graduates
  • Corporate culture and IT awareness
  • Interview etiquettes and dress etiquettes and related topics.

To improve communication skills in English and soft skills, the final year degree students of our college were provided with an opportunity to undergo training in the college language lab for three months.

We realize that more personality development workshops from HR Managers and executives from corporate sectors and programmes on communication skills by professionals are required to address the need to enhance employability and to bring a sense of commitment and self-discipline among the students.
